Marketing company moving HQ from Miami to NYC

The exclusive sales and marketing agent for Trump Soho Hotel Condominium is soon opening its first New York City office.

By June, Prodigy International, which is also co-marketing Andre Balazs' William Beaver House, is moving its Miami headquarters to a second-floor, loft-style office at 72 Greene Street in Manhattan, according to Prodigy President Rodrigo Niño. He moved to New York City with his wife and two children last summer because commuting from Florida was taking its toll.

The Soho office, between Broome and Spring streets, will be 4,000 square feet and will accommodate 25 of Prodigy's senior corporate staff who worked out of the Miami office in the Four Seasons Tower.

While the Miami real estate market is significantly weakening, Niño said the move is about positioning the company internationally. "It is easier for me to handle a global organization in Manhattan than Miami," said Niño, who cut his teeth in Miami. "The particularly important issue is that the corporate team will be in Manhattan now instead of Miami."

Niño selected the Soho office, which is down the street from Luis Vuitton Soho, because he is a "downtown type of guy," and he wanted to have a less corporate style office.

Prodigy also has an office in Panama and soon Madrid.

Prodigy is working on more than 10 projects including a Richard Meier oceanfront condo and the Residences at Gansevoort South in Miami as well as developments in Panama, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.

Niño said he hopes to have more Manhattan projects on the drawing board by the end of the year.
